The Developer Console (often called the "debug console") is a powerful, built-in tool in XCOM: Enemy Within (PC version) that allows players to bypass standard gameplay mechanics. Originally used by Firaxis for testing, it can be enabled by end-users to execute console commands. These commands range from granting unlimited resources (melding, money, alloys) to toggling god mode, spawning enemies, or instantly completing research and engineering projects.
Unlike its successor XCOM 2, XCOM: Enemy Within does not provide a polished in-game console for players. However, the game engine (a modified version of Unreal Engine 3) retains the standard Unreal console capabilities. Accessing this requires a "keybinding injection" via the game's configuration files. xcom enemy within dev console full
