The "curse" is twofold. First, Diana is physically bound to the Underworld by a devouring necromantic plague after she is bitten by a Cerberus-hound corrupted by the Titans. Second, she suffers a psychological curse: every soul she has ever killed—every soldier and monster—returns as a whispering wraith that follows her through the Stygian darkness.
