USB Redirector Technician Edition 1.9.7 — Deep Setup Guide

This guide walks through preparing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting USB Redirector Technician Edition 1.9.7 for sharing and accessing USB devices over a network. It assumes Windows hosts (server and client) and a typical LAN; adjust for your environment as needed.

  1. Launch the Software: Launch the USB Redirector Technician Edition 1.9.7 software.
  2. Select the USB Device: Select the USB device you want to redirect from the list of available devices.
  3. Choose the Redirector Settings: Choose the redirector settings, including the application or virtual machine you want to redirect the device to.
  4. Configure the Security Settings: Configure the security settings, including encryption and authentication.
  5. Save the Settings: Save the settings and restart the redirector service.
  • Authenticate if required (username/password or other credential configured).
  • In the remote device list select the shared device and click “Connect” (or “Redirect”).
  • Windows will detect a new USB device and install drivers (may need Admin). Wait for driver installation to complete.
  • Confirm device appears in Device Manager and is usable by the application that requires it.
