To reset the password for a DVR, you can typically use recovery tools provided by the manufacturer or perform a hardware reset. Most modern Trueview devices utilize a synchronized recovery process between the DVR interface and the True Cloud mobile app. 1. Standard Software Recovery (Mobile App)
Download the correct firmware. Do not use a generic H.264 firmware. Wrong firmware will brick your DVR. Look for a file named update.bin, dvr_firmware.bin, or TV_NVR_xxx.img.
Enter Security Code: A temporary verification code will be sent to your registered email. Enter this code into the DVR to create a new password. 3. Physical Hardware Reset
Before we dive into the reset process, understand why TrueView built their system this way. Unlike consumer cameras, TrueView DVRs are commercial-grade. The password protects:
S/N or Serial No.Info or Status shows the S/N without logging in.Scenario: The DVR is on the same local network, and you have the UID (on a sticker on the DVR case).
