When driven by the TRON ARES electronic speed controller (ESC) in descarga (high‑rate discharge) mode, the motor experiences rapid current transients that challenge its thermal limits and affect long‑term reliability. This paper presents a systematic experimental investigation of the V1206 motor’s electrical, mechanical and thermal response under controlled discharge cycles performed with the TRON ARES ESC. Key performance metrics—maximum thrust, torque ripple, temperature rise, and efficiency—are reported for discharge rates ranging from 30 A to 70 A. A simplified analytical model based on the motor’s electrical time constant and the ESC’s voltage‑droop characteristic accurately predicts the observed temperature evolution (R² = 0.94). The results demonstrate that, while the V1206 can sustain 60 A continuous discharge with acceptable temperature (≤ 80 °C) when equipped with a 4‑cell LiPo pack, higher currents necessitate active cooling or duty‑cycle limitation. Recommendations for safe operating envelopes and design guidelines for future high‑performance drone propulsion systems are provided.
