Developer Tools
1. LineageOS (The Daily Driver Choice)
If stability is your religion, LineageOS is the answer. Most versions for the A9 Pro are unofficial but highly stable. It offers a pure Android experience with just enough customization to make the phone feel personal.
The Solution: You must install a port of the Google Camera (GCam). Communities on XDA Developers have specific XML config files for the A9 Pro that unlock features like HDR+ and Night Sight, making the camera outperform the original stock software in low-light conditions.
You lose Samsung Pay and slightly degrade the camera, but you gain privacy, speed, and compatibility with modern apps.
Unlock Bootloader: Go to Developer Options > Enable OEM Unlocking.
Install TWRP: You need a custom recovery. Search for twrp_a9pro.tar and flash it via Odin (PC required).
Backup EFS: Before doing ANYTHING, backup your IMEI/EFS folder in TWRP. If you lose this, your phone is a paperweight.
Wipe: Dalvik, System, Data, Cache. (Do not wipe Internal Storage yet).
Flash: Copy your chosen ROM + Gapps (if needed) to the SD card, then flash via TWRP.
Format Data:Crucial step. Go to Wipe > Format Data > type "yes".
3. Project Elixir (Android 13) – The Modern Dream
Status: Beta/Unstable for A9 Pro.
Why choose it: Brings Pixel UI and Android 13 features to this old hardware.
Bugs: Camera crashes occasionally. Hotspot sometimes fails. Not recommended for non-tech-savvy users.
