Roy Stuart is a filmmaker as well as a photographer, and Glimpse 6 reads very much like a storyboard for an erotic film. The "interesting story" here is the ambiguity of the snapshot. The images often look like freeze-frames from a movie that doesn't exist. The viewer is forced to invent the backstory: Why is she in that room? Who just left? Who is she waiting for? Because the images are sequential and high-resolution, they invite the viewer to construct a plot around the characters, rather than just admiring a single composition. roy stuart glimpse vol 6
Due to its limited print run and niche audience, first editions of Glimpse Vol 6 have become collector’s items. Prices on the secondary market (AbeBooks, eBay, specialist erotic bookshops in Paris or Berlin) range from $150 to $600 depending on condition.
