How to Install Roland XPS-30 Version 2.11

Roland updates are famously retro. You can’t do this over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. You need a USB drive and 5 minutes of patience.

To install this or any system program, you must copy the xps30_up.bin file to the root directory of a formatted USB flash drive and hold the [TAP] button while powering on the unit. You can check your current version by navigating to MENU > SYSTEM > INFORMATION.

6) MIDI & DAW integration

  • USB MIDI: Connect USB-B to computer, set XPS to USB MIDI mode.
  • Channel routing: Assign Parts to different MIDI channels for multitimbral sequencing.
  • DAW tracking: In DAW, create matching MIDI channels to record Parts separately.
  • Clock sync: Enable MIDI Clock send/receive in Utility > MIDI to sync tempo.
  • Program changes: Send PC messages from DAW to switch Programs/Performances.

Finish: Once "===update finished. ===" displays, restart the keyboard. 🔍 Checking Your Version Press [MENU]. Navigate to SYSTEM > INFORMATION. The screen will display your current firmware version.
