Chapter 3: Dual Extruder Calibration (The "Must-Read" Section)
This is where most users throw their hands up. The QIDI X-Pro manual refers to this as "Offset Calibration." Because the two nozzles are fixed side-by-side, the printer needs to know exactly how far apart they are in X and Y space. This is organized by the most critical functions:
QIDI Tech Official Website: You can find the latest firmware, software, and basic setup guides on the QIDI Tech Download Center. Navigate to Prepare > Auto Home on the touchscreen
- Navigate to Prepare > Auto Home on the touchscreen.
- Once the printer stops moving, disable the stepper motors by selecting Prepare > Disable Steppers.
- Place a sheet of standard A4 paper on the build plate.
- Manually move the nozzle to the first corner (Front Left). Adjust the leveling knob underneath the bed until you feel slight resistance when pulling the paper. You should be able to move the paper, but feel the nozzle rubbing against it.
- Repeat this process for the Front Right, Back Right, and Back Left corners.
- Repeat the process 2-3 times, as adjusting one corner affects the others."
- Lubrication: The X-Pro uses rods for movement. Every 2-3 months, apply a small amount of lithium grease (included in the toolkit) to the X and Y-axis rods.
- Bed Cleaning: The build plate surface is durable, but oils from your hands ruin adhesion. Wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol before every major print.
- Nozzle Cleaning: The X-Pro is a "Bowden" style printer. If you have clogs, the manual instructs on how to remove the nozzle. Keep a pack of cleaning needles handy—they are faster than taking the hotend apart.
