Jaekyung’s Realization: After hearing Dan's story, Jaekyung is visibly shocked. He begins to realize the gravity of his own past mistreatment of Dan, particularly his actions in Season 1.

After the high-octane anxiety of the previous chapters (the near-drowning, the drunken aggression, and the non-verbal conflict), Chapter 90 serves as a much-needed pressure release valve. It is a quieter chapter, but arguably one of the most important in the series' second act, as it marks the first time Kim Dan truly asserts his agency.

Dan’s Feelings: Dan admits that he genuinely likes Jaekyung but has lived in constant fear of being kicked out due to his financial dependency.

Ekko’s eyes softened, and for the first time, she saw the flicker of vulnerability behind his usual bravado. “All the time,” he admitted. “But I’ve learned that sometimes the best way to find yourself is to let someone else see you.”
