Origins and Influences

A huge part of these digital archives is dedicated to Japanese City Pop. Before the mid-2010s, tracks by Tatsuro Yamashita or Mariya Takeuchi were difficult to find outside of Japan. Digital bundles allowed Western producers to access these high-fidelity disco gems, which they would then "flip" into Future Funk hits.
