Flashtool 0.9.18.5: A Comprehensive Tool for Flashing Firmware on Sony Devices

Flashing

  1. Hold Shift and click Restart.
  2. Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  3. Press 7 or F7 to select "Disable driver signature enforcement."
  • It understands the old format (SIN v3). It can flash Xperia Z, Z1, Z2, and Z3 as if they were brand new.
  • It barely tolerates the new format. It can brute-force flash early Xperia X and XZ devices, often ignoring "signature mismatch" errors that newer builds refuse to touch.
  • It ignores the "TA" warnings. The Trim Area (TA) holds your DRM keys. Newer tools protect it. 0.9.18.5 assumes you know what you are doing. This makes it the only tool capable of performing the infamous "TA dump restore" to get your camera working again after an unlock.

Firmware Flashing: Easily install official Sony Android builds without needing an unlocked bootloader. Flashtool 0.9.18.5

Step 5: Launch and Configure

Open Flashtool. Go to Tools > Bundles > FOTA (suspend this if not needed). The main window will show a green Device connected message once you plug in your phone. Flashtool 0
