If You Can’t Find It
Contact Ddpai support directly via their official email or in-app support – they will send you the correct firmware file. Go to Settings > Format SD Card > Confirm
- Go to Settings > Format SD Card > Confirm.
2.2 Identifying the Correct Firmware Version
Before downloading, check your current firmware version:
Phase 2: Download and Transfer
- Download the firmware file (usually named
Z40.binorupdate.bin). - Do not rename the file. If your Windows computer hides extensions, ensure it is not named
Z40.bin.bin. - Copy the
.binfile directly to the root directory of the SD card (not inside any folder).
Phase 3: Flashing the Firmware
- Power off the Ddpai Z40.
- Insert the SD card.
- Press and hold the Power button (or connect USB power). Some models update automatically upon boot.
- The LED will flash red/blue, and a voice prompt will say "Upgrading firmware, do not power off."
- Wait 2-3 minutes. The camera will reboot automatically.
- Critical Step: Go to Settings > Restore Factory Settings – this clears old config files that may conflict with the new firmware.
