For over a decade, Mario Kart Wii has maintained a cult-like following, not just because of its chaotic blue shells and bike physics, but due to its thriving modding community. At the forefront of this movement is CTGP Revolution (Custom Track Grand Prix). While newer versions have since been released, the version v1.03 remains a historical cornerstone for many modders, particularly those seeking a stable, lightweight build in the WBFS format.
Using Wii Backup Manager (Windows):
WBFS (Wii Backup File System) is a proprietary file system developed for USB loaders. Unlike an ISO (which is a raw 1:1 disc copy), a WBFS file strips out junk data, padding, and update partitions. A standard Mario Kart Wii ISO is 4.37GB; a CTGP Revolution v1.03 WBFS file often compresses down to 3.2GB–3.8GB. ctgp revolution v1.03 wbfs
