Technical Overview: Cort Serial Number Identification and Decoding

  1. Locate serial number – usually on back of headstock, sometimes neck plate or inside soundhole (acoustics).
  2. Format check – if 10–11 digits starting with C/I/V/K/P, use the community decoder at cortserial.com.
  3. If ambiguous or old format – email support@cortguitars.com with:
    1. Locate the serial number on your Cort instrument. The serial number is usually found on the back of the headstock, on the body of the instrument, or on the neck.
    2. Go to the Cort Serial Number Checker webpage and enter your instrument's serial number in the designated field.
    3. Click on the "Check" or "Verify" button to initiate the search process.
    4. The Cort Serial Number Checker will then display the relevant information about your instrument, including its model, production date, and specifications.
