3. Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 (The 90s Legend)

For the true nostalgics. Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 ran on Windows 95/98 and used the classic MIDI sequencer interface.

  • Go to forum.cakewalk.com → search for “offline installer” – some long-term users share old BandLab Assistant installers (version 2020.01, for example).

4. The "Vintage Legend" (Pre-2000s)

Version: Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 The Review: This is the version that started it all for many. Before it was called SONAR, it was "Cakewalk Pro Audio." It looked like a spreadsheet mixed with a MIDI sequencer. It was purely functional, focusing on MIDI over audio.

Activation Status: CbB is now considered sunsetted. It is no longer supported for new installations or reactivations.
