Bloomtown A Different Story -nsp--update V1.0.4... Now
Review: Bloomtown: A Different Story (Switch - v1.0.4)
Verdict: A Charming Indie Gem with Lingering Rough Edges
- Three New Side Quests: "The Apricot Mailbox," "Crows of Regret," and "Leo's Last Broadcast." These add roughly 90 minutes of gameplay.
- Expanded Romance/Friendship Paths: The previously abrupt conclusion for the character "Samira" now has a proper resolution. Over 40 new lines of dialogue have been added to the final campfire scene.
- Missable Content Fixes: Items that were permanently missable in v1.0 (like the "Moth Wing Brooch") are now available via the new pawn shop mechanic.
- Manual Save Slots: v1.0.4 introduces 6 manual save slots.
- Backup Recovery: The NSP version now includes an automatic backup of your previous three saves. If a file corrupts (a known issue in 1.0.2), the game will prompt you to restore from a backup.
For new players: Do not play the base 1.0 version. Seek out this patched NSP or update your digital copy immediately. The three new side quests alone add necessary context to the game’s cosmic ending, and the manual save feature eliminates the stress of losing progress during the long, meditative walks through the town.
