6.2 Short protection
- VSS to VDD_CORE resistance: <2 ohms (normal) – use micro-ohmmeter
- VDD_18 to ground: ~1.5 kΩ – if 0Ω, suspect blown APU internal LDO
- Number of pins: ~50-60 pins.
- Location: Lower right quadrant, near the edge.
- Voltage: 1.05V (stock) to 1.2V (daily OC). Never exceed 1.25V on AM4. This is the zone that kills Ryzen chips with "SOC voltage" suicide.
- Exclusive wiring: The SOC rail is isolated from Vcore. In the pinout diagram, you’ll notice a "moat" of VSS (ground) pins separating SOC from Vcore. This prevents switching noise from the CPU cores corrupting memory data.
