Important Note: Adobe Audition 1.5 is legacy software (released in 2004). It is not officially supported on modern operating systems (Windows 10/11). For best results, use Windows XP, Vista, or 7, or a virtual machine.
Audition 1.5’s speed is legendary, but you must set it up correctly:
F1 (default Help) – reassign to Record.Ctrl+Shift+N – reassign to New Multitrack Session.Compatibility Settings (If needed): If the installer fails to launch: Right-click setup.exe and select Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab. adobe audition 1.5 setup
Once installed, every time you open Audition 1.5, do this to save hours of headache:
Download from asio4all.org (latest version 2.15 is fine). Install with default settings. Adobe Audition 1
Finish: Do not launch the program immediately after the progress bar finishes. 🎧 Step 2: Configuring Audio Hardware (ASIO vs. MME)
Driver Class: For recording separate inputs on multiple channels, use the ASIO device class if your hardware supports it. F1 (default Help) – reassign to Record
ASIO Support: Audition 1.5 has native ASIO driver support. If you have a Focusrite or Behringer interface, go to Edit > Hardware Setup > ASIO and select your driver. This reduces latency from 200ms to under 10ms.
